Travel to other offices will be required to assist and work with staff.
CLASS PURPOSE To manage, organize, and oversee the WIC/Nutrition Division ; provide leadership, consultation, and liaison with staff, health care providers, and the community; perform related work.
The WIC Manager oversees the delivery of clinical and educational services to all eight (8) counties served by EIPH (Eastern Idaho Public Health).
GENERAL INFORMATION Position typically has full supervisory responsibilities over professional and/or support staff and/or programs, requiring advanced knowledge and skill in program planning and management.
They have a strong role in problem solving and conflict resolution with both staff and client groups.
Participation in long-range planning, policy development, and budget preparation is expected.
Direct Registered Dietitian services may also be performed.
DUTIES Participates in the development of the local agency nutrition education and breastfeeding promotion and support plan.
Participates in local and state workgroups to improve nutrition and program services.
Provides technical assistance and consultation to other local agency staff and other health professionals in nutrition services areas.
Oversees the development and implementation of a Quality Assurance Plan and Quality Improvement Plan.
Develop, administer, or assign training schedules for staff who provide nutrition services, ensuring certifiers meet federal guidelines for compliance utilizing WIC training materials.
Evaluates WIC/Nutrition programs for effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
Responds to and effectively resolves client concerns/complaints.
Review and update policy and procedure development, including revisions and implementation.
Working with Division Administrator, develop and assess budgets for program services and evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of services.
Ensures sub-grant work requirements and reports are completed and submitted in a timely and high-quality manner.
Ensures compliance with contracts/subgrants, and all applicate state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Provide supervisory support to WIC staff including performance reviews, coaching, attendance and timesheets, hiring, etc.
Coordinate RD workload and provide RD client services.
Attend required meetings and trainings.
SPECIALTY AREAS Nutrition Services Breastfeeding education and support Phenylketonuria (PKU) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must possess an Idaho Register Dietitian License Public health employees must be willing to participate in public health preparedness activities and training and may be asked to perform activities within their skill levels that are not part of their normal jobs.
During emergency situations, employees may be asked to work hours outside of the normal workday to assist with emergency response activities.
