The Division of Family and Community Services - Child Welfare Program currently has an opening for a Technical Records Specialist 1 in our Idaho Falls office.
This position provides technical records support to professional staff within the Department's Child Welfare Program.
Additionally, this position provides front office coverage greeting walk-ins and answering phones.
This incumbent will need a special eye for attention to detail, be organized and self-motivated , with good customer service skills, and effective learning skills.
This position will work Monday - Friday, 8:
00am - 5:
00pm with holidays and weekends off.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Answer and direct incoming telephone calls for multiple programs.
Greet walk-in customers.
Gather information, make decisions, resolve problems, and respond to inquiries.
Utilize independent judgment and discretion as to the methods, policies, and procedures used to complete assignments.
Perform specialized support work that involves an extensive in-depth knowledge of the program.
Review, evaluate, approve, and process records and/or documents.
Explain requirements, processes, and procedures to customers.
Manipulate and update manual and/or computerized records systems.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:

Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors.
Typically requires one year of full-time work experience.
Experience researching a variety of sources to collect and compile information with good knowledge of services, operations and programs.
Typically requires one year of full-time work experience.
Two years of experience working 20 hours per week equates to one year of work experience.
Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying a variety of difficult rules, regulations, or policies to determine compliance or eligibility.
These complex decisions could have affected the social or economic well-being of others or would result in a service or action being denied.
Typically requires one year of work experience.
Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system.
Typically requires six months of work experience.
