The Plant Maintenance Technician position is full-time and based at our shop location in Idaho Falls, ID.
The position maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7am to 5:
30pm or 5:
30pm to 4:
00am.
Overtime may be required.
The primary purpose of this job is to keep all equipment, and the facility in general, up and running and in good repair with scheduled preventative maintenance as necessary, while still being cost efficient.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned or requested.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Completes other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Two or more years of industrial maintenance experience.
Equipment maintenance - repair and maintain fabrication equipment, welding equipment, painting equipment/filters, pallet racking and shelving, grinders and banding tools.
Technical understanding, power tools, job knowledge a must.
Be able to repair:
Siding, roofing, lighting (light bulbs, etc.
), leaks, plumbing (bathrooms:
sinks, toilets, faucets), and cranes and hoists.
High school diploma required or GED equivalent.
Must have own hand tools.
Forklift certified or able to obtain forklift certification.
