At the lower levels, the selectee will perform developmental assignments under closer than normal supervision. Assignments become progressively more difficult until the next performance level is reached. Full performance of this position entails the following duties:
Serve as project/program manager for assigned individual nuclear and non-nuclear energy research and development (R&D;) projects.
Ensure that all fiduciary responsibilities are met including but not limited to cost, schedule and scope, environment, safety and health and quality performance.
Oversee detailed technical activities such as formal design reviews, technical reviews, and prioritizations of R&D; efforts.
Make recommendations on issues such as safety margins, technical feasibility, technical maturity of designs and concepts, and the balancing of R&D; portfolios.
Keep up to date on research trends and technologies related to assigned areas and serve as a point of contact and technical expert for the assigned technical topics.
Oversee contractor personnel and activities in the development of planning documents for each assigned project or program.
Ensure that Environmental, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q;) policies and objectives are carried out within assigned projects and programs.

(A) Degree in professional engineering from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
