As a Health Physicist, GS-1306-13, you will:
Participate in the implementation of Laws and DOE directives, such as:
10 CFR 835, Radiation Protection for Occupational Workers; pertinent sections of DOE Order 458.1, Radiation Protection of the Public and Environment; and DOE and contractor Radiological Control Manuals, where applicable. Serve as a radiological controls subject matter expert for the Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID) and as a technical expert and advisor to the Department of Energy for radiological controls, functioning as an advisor and assessor for the offices of Nuclear Energy, Environmental Management, Environment, Health, Safety, and other Program Secretarial Offices, as issues are identified. Conduct administrative and technical reviews on proposals, plans, reports, drawings, engineering evaluations, facility designs, safety basis documentation, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, and procedures related to assigned projects and programs. Evaluate applicability of and assesses contractor compliance with DOE, Federal, state and local regulations, requirements and standards for assigned programs and activities. Serve as a point of contact for radiological control matters at DOE-ID. Provides technical advice associated with the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Site Radiological Control Programs and functions as the DOE-ID Radiological Controls Program Manager. Provide professional advice and assistance to DOE Program/Facility Managers or other Managers in any of the Field Office activities involving radioactive materials or exposure to radiation. The work involves regular and recurring visits to the Idaho Site (an >800 sq. mile area and widely spaced operational facilities located 30 - 50 miles from the duty station) which requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing in performing regular and periodic observations of activities occurring in the high desert environment, such as, construction activities, field conditions, wildlife assessments, and to observe and study work operations in an industrial, storage, or comparable work area. Basic Qualification Requirements for GS-13 A. Degree:
natural science or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in health physics, engineering, radiological science, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and/or calculus. or B. Combination of education and experience -- courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or other education; or certification as a health physicist by the American Board of Health Physics, plus appropriate experience and other education that provided an understanding of sciences applicable to health physics comparable to that described in paragraph A. In addition to meeting the basic requirements, applicants must meet the specialized experience as identified below. Specialized Experience requirements for the GS-13 position is as follows:

Skill in resolving conflicts, controversies, and disputes over the applicability of Federal standards; conducts onsite inspections, identifies trends requiring management action; identifies and evaluates potential hazards. Ability to convey policies, commitments and technical information in order to avoid adverse impact on EM safety and health program funding and public acceptance, to provide technical advice and direction of and participation in agency and interagency task forces, committees, and meetings. Skill to develop written safety and health technical plans, standards and criteria and answer internal and external inquiries from federal agencies, state governments, special interest groups, and the public. Ability to effectively communicate with technical experts, commercial generators, universities and state and local agencies sufficient to direct, manage, review and coordinate safety and health activities and requirements.Time-in-Grade:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
