As a Chemist, you will:
Define issues and develop techniques for preparing standards, calibrating analytical instruments and analyzing data for specialized area(s) of analytical radiochemistry. Work independently to evaluate the efficiency and reliability of existing technical procedures and, where appropriate, recommends specific improvements. Ensure the proper use and maintenance of highly specialized technical laboratory instruments used to perform analytical measurements. Forecast need and write specifications for specialized laboratory instruments and performs acceptance tests. Provide expert technical assistance and consulting in area(s) of specialization to RESL, DOE-ID, DOE-HQ, and DOE contractors as required. Write standard operating procedures, progress reports and technical papers to describe technical achievements. Present publications at technical meetings and/or publishes technical achievements in technical journals. Participate in teams and/or work groups to establish DOE program goals, objectives and strategic plans to define the long-term emphasis and focus of programs; assess the current status; analyze potential business opportunities and risks involved; establish short term goals; and develop implementation plans for the programs. Experience assisting in planning and conducting method development activities in highly specialized area(s) of analytical chemistry to support agency wide projects and programs, covering selected areas of environmental inorganic chemistry and/or radiochemistry. Practice in defining issues and developing techniques for preparing standards, calibrating analytical instruments and analyzing data for specialized area(s) of analytical chemistry. Demonstrated experience in working independently to evaluating the efficiency and reliability of existing technical procedures and, where appropriate, recommends specific improvements. Practice in the ensuring the proper use and maintenance of highly specialized technical laboratory instruments used to perform analytical measurements. Experience in assisting senior chemists in forecasting needs and writing specifications for specialized laboratory instruments and performs acceptance tests. Skill to prepare and deliver written and oral presentations of complex technical and program management information to managers and employees in DOE, contractor firms, other agencies, interest groups, and the general public. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
