As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, you will:
Be responsible for supervising IM/CYBER and IT staff in accordance with principles and policies established by Agency. Make recommendations to Agency management regarding IM/CYBER and IT missions, tasks, and projects. Ensures that allocation and utilization of resources are based on sound programmatic needs consistent with mission accomplishment within statutory, regulatory, and budgetary constraints. Utilizes resources in program areas efficiently and effectively. Direct a program or major program segment with significant resources (e.g., one at a multimillion dollar level of annual resources); exercises significant responsibilities in dealing with officials of other units or organizations, or in advising management officials of higher rank; determines whether contractor performed work meets standards of adequacy necessary to continue operations and for authorization of payment; finds and implements ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team building, or improve business practices; and makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors, support contractors, team leaders, or similar personnel. Exercise managerial authority over programs in order to effectively make key decisions that affect the content of missions and operations. Evaluate subordinate supervisors or leaders and serves as the reviewing official on evaluations of nonsupervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors. Establish, either independently or jointly with higher management, technical and programmatic goals and objectives for overseen programs and activities that may include, but not be limited to, areas such as Computing Resource Management; Application Development and Management; IT Infrastructure; Communications Management; Budget Planning & Execution; Records Management; Classified and Unclassified Cyber Security; Capital Planning and Investment Control; Project Management; or Enterprise Information Architecture). Direct and administer contractor oversight and evaluations, ensuring that programs are properly planned, managed and executed in accordance with directives and good business practices. Develops and negotiates acceptable performance measures, metrics and deliverables. Direct follow-up actions to assure deficiencies are corrected. Your work experience must be IT related; your work experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification). You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Ability to delegate managerial authority to set a series of annual or similar types of long- range work plans and schedules for contracted work. Assures implementation of the goals and objectives for the program segment or function overseen. Ability to implement goals and objectives for the program segment or function overseen and directly advise senior management regarding the development of overall goals and objectives and performance outcomes for assigned program function. Knowledge to provide expert, accurate, and timely advice to top management and other program officials on a wide range of complex matters. The work has coverage which encompasses a multi-mission installation under the direction of the Agency and operated by multiple prime contractors. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:
volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
